STEP BY STEP: HOW TO GET PERFECT RESULTS EVERYTIME!
STEP ONE:
Step One: Clean Metal Surface
Clean the rusted metal surface. For best results use our RUSTGUY® RUST PREP CLEANER - DEGREASER (tested safe for farm use, leaves a clean, residue-free surface.) Use a pressure washer or bucket and brush. Remove any grease, oil, dirt, manure, salt, calium choloride, road tar, urine, adhesives, fertilizer residue, etc. Inspect the surface. Open up any bubbled paint and remove the loose flake. (Galvanzied surfaces, remove any blisters.) DO NOT REMOVE ALL THE RUST! NO SCRAPING, GRINDING OR SANDBLASTING!
Best results are achieved when all rusted areas are exposed and a layer of rust is left on the surface.
STEP TWO:
Step Two: Apply Rust Converter
Apply RUSTGUY® RUST CONVERTER to dry or damp surfaces. Do not dilute. You can use a synthetic bristle brush, roller, or sprayer. Any sprayer can be used.
Important! Apply RUSTGUY® Rust Converter to completely saturate the rusted surface. Best applied in cross directions to acheive maximum surface coverage. We like the criss-cross method, meaning apply to surface in one direction then again in a cross direction if possible. Dries to silky smooth, rock hard sheen finish. Allow 24 hours to fully cure. Leave as is or paint. No need to prime. RUSTGUY® RUST CONVERTER can be sanded, puttied or filled.
STEP THREE:
Step Three: (Optional) Paint the Surface.
Paint the surface. For optimum results use RUSTGUY® RUST PREVENTER our best selling resin coating (one step ... no mixing ... self-leveling coating ... that is as strong as epoxy!) Leaves a super hard coat finish and long lasting durability that will not fade even in the most intense sun conditions! Made for farm conditions ... resists rock chips, salt, manure, fertilizer, urine, salt and acid rain. Available in clear and standard colors.
